On the 27th July 2020, the European Commission launched a new European strategy for a more effective fight against child sexual abuse as part of its Security Union Strategy. Addressing offline and online child sexual abuse, the report notes that the current coronavirus pandemic has increased the sharing of CSEM online.
A core part of the strategy is the need for a strengthened law enforcement response to CSEM, including the development of new digital capabilities for LEAs in Member States.
GRACE hopes to further this initiative through the delivery of solutions that support LEAs in addressing online CSEM content.
